Fortinet has named PGA TOUR player and Fortinet Championship winner Max Homa as a Fortinet Global Brand Ambassador. Additionally, it has been confirmed that Fortinet will once again team up with the PGA TOUR and Silverado Resort and Spa to kick off the 2022-2023 FedExCup Regular Season, with its tournament running from September 14 – 18, 2022.

About PGA TOUR Player & Fortinet Championship Winner, Max Homa

Max currently ranks 34th in the Official World Golf Ranking and is sitting at 6th in the 2021-22 FedEx Cup standings. A California native, Max Homa was born and raised in Valencia – just outside of Los Angeles – and earned a golf scholarship to attend the University of California Berkeley.  He went on to win the PAC-12 Conference Championship, as well as the 2013 NCAA Championship individual honors, and competed in the 2013 US Open as an amateur.

Before turning professional, Max was a member of the victorious 2013 Walker Cup team. Max eventually settled into the PGA TOUR, winning two Korn Ferry Tour events and earning his PGA TOUR card on two different occasions. Max then won his first PGA TOUR event at the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship. Since then, Max went on to a number of great finishes on the PGA TOUR, highlighted by two wins in California: the 2021 Genesis Invitational presented by the Tiger Woods Foundation and, most recently, the 2021 Fortinet Championship, which was hosted in Napa.

About Fortinet, the Fortinet Championship, and the PGA TOUR

Aligned with the PGA TOUR, a world-class brand and global leader in charitable global impact, the Fortinet Championship continues to look forward to making a positive community impact with Bay Area non-profit organizations and the local Napa Valley community. Nearly all PGA TOUR tournaments are organized as non-profit organizations to maximize charitable giving, and as of September’s inaugural Fortinet Championship event, tournaments across all Tours have generated more than $3.2 billion.

A digital world you can always trust is essential to achieving just and sustainable societies. At Fortinet, we believe it is our corporate social responsibility to deliver on that vision by innovating sustainable security technologies, diversifying cybersecurity talent, and promoting responsible business across our value chain. Fortinet has designated proceeds from the Fortinet Championship to benefit non-profit organizations in the areas of STEM, inclusion and diversity, and veterans reskilling programs. These and other programs, such as Fortinet’s TAA Initiative, which provides free Network Security Expert (NSE) training, as well as security academies and veterans programs, are helping to close the cybersecurity skills gap. Through the Fortinet Veterans Program Fortinet has helped over 2,000 veterans and military spouses transition into careers in cybersecurity since 2013.

The 2022 Fortinet Championship and premier PGA TOUR event will kick off the 2022-23 PGA TOUR Season and will be held in Napa, California at the Silverado Resort and Spa from September 14–18, 2022. Learn more about the Fortinet Championship here.
